Pushing RPA Further Into Business Functions

A fast-growing senior-care provider's PACS imaging wasn't integrated with its EMR, hampering radiologists. Trexin closed the gap with RPA (UiPath + HL7): faster image access and a 20% increase in imaging throughput.

case study

Challenge

A fast-growing, full-risk value-based senior-care provider had deployed a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) but hadn’t integrated it with their bespoke EMR. The digital gap hurt radiologists’ workflow badly enough that it was believed to affect the company’s ability to attract and retain them.

Approach

We’d recently piloted RPA for the Client with strong results: a 100% reduction in errors on certain core processes and an estimated ~$500k ROI over two years. On that proof, we recommended RPA to integrate PACS and EMR, using UiPath to automate workflow updates and the HL7 integration.

Outcome

We closed the gap, cutting manual steps for radiologists and speeding access to imaging modalities (plain film, CT, MRI). With a modern imaging environment in place, the Client was better positioned to attract and retain radiologists, sustain growth, and accommodate a 20% increase in patient imaging throughput.

Why Trexin

Practical automation aimed exactly where the friction was hurting recruiting and growth.
